He won “The Most Creative Design” in the Malaysia Footwear Competition 2010 as well as 1st Prize for Ladies Fashion Shoe Design in the Malaysian Footwear Competition 2010, and 2nd Runner Up for Lady’s Boots Design in the International Footwear Competition 2010.
Benson likes to fuse modern design with perfect comfort, designing dozens of styles with heel heights of 3 inches and higher. The designer's professed goal is to “make a woman look sexy, beautiful, to make her legs look as long as he can.” While high heels are his specialty he does offer some lower-heeled styles. He is generally associated with his stylish eveningwear designs incorporating beaded Swarovzki and high quality leather. He also collaborates with selected international designers.
Benson Chen is one of Malaysia’s best footwear designers and is based in Kuala Lumpur. He is best known for founding the Benson Chen brand at the young age of 19. It has become famous for its hand-made women's footwear.
