Rana Noman for Burooj Couture at Pakistan Fashion Week UK
The opening collection at Pakistan Fashion Week UK was Rana Noman’s heavy formal, entitled The Forbidden Gardens. Noman made use of a variety of fabrics in his collection ranging from brocades for lehengas to velvet for men’s sherwanis. The usual diamantes and pearls were seen throughout the collection but what captured everyone’s attention, including ours, was the traditional handicraft which the designer introduced in the shape of flowers called “kaamdani”. The audience were impressed, amazed and aroused with curiosity all at the same time!
